I spent most of my time in 2024-2025 working on an algotrading system to automatically trade stocks.

  • Tested more than 100 different strategies and algorithms

  • For example, simple strategies like buying SPY when RSI is below 30 and sell when it's above 70 works well if you stick to the plan.

  • Auto trade stocks based purely on statistical models and technical analysis, eliminating emotional bias from human touch.

  • "Set and forget" system designed for hands-free operation and long-term passive investment growth.

Technical

  • Written in Python

  • Originally used QuestDB to store OHLC data for OLAP.

  • Optimized data architecture by migrating from QuestDB to ClickHouse, significantly improved processing speeds for complex queries and reduced storage costs by over 2X.

The work for this is done and right now the system is running automatically.

It is basically a system to grow my wealth in a passive manner without dealing with emotions or the constant need to monitor or lookout for undervalued stocks and their price action.
